Custom lab tools. At Vienna Scientific Instruments, we know that successful science is not just about great ideas and expensive scientific instruments. Often it is the "little things" that make the difference: special connectors or injectors, adapters, vial or sample holders, boxes... that make work in the lab and in the field easier, cheaper, more efficient and therefore often more reliable. They can help you create a very specific experimental setup or simply connect two of your instruments in a novel, highly innovative way. We design and manufacture custom labware and tools (see below for examples) using a wide range of manufacturing techniques such as laser cutting and CNC milling. 3D printing in particular makes it possible to produce the "little things" that get a lab up and running much faster and easier than ever before, at an excellent cost-benefit ratio. If you have an idea of what tool or accessory you need, we can design and build it - many useful tools are already available as open-hardware projects.
