VSI soil corer - We offer a complete set of soil coring equipment, manufactured according to long-term experience and field approved at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU). The soil core sampling equipment is used to collect virtually undisturbed soil core samples for soil profiling, root biomass determination and other environmental investigations including soil chemical and physical parameters.
Standard sets include: 50, 70, 90 or 110 cm long soil corer manufactured from stainless steel with replaceable crown (hardened metal tip), an extra crown, a handle to pull the corer out, a plastic pusher to extract the soil sample after sampling and a broom to clean the inside. A unique, most robust, vibration absorbing drive head is used to drive the sampling tube into the soil utilising a soft-head hammer. Soil samples can be removed easily from the soil sampler because the crown has a slightly smaller inner diameter compared to the tube. Standard diameters are: an inner crown diameter of 72mm, and an inner diameter of the soil coring tube of 76 mm. The crowns are field replaceable. The sampling set is delivered in a practical and robust carrying case. Every part can be ordered separately at a competitive price. The crown and corer tube diameter, length etc. can be adapted to needs e.g. allowing to use the system also for tight minirhizotron tube installation (order the corer outer diameter 2-4 mm smaller than the diameter of your MR-T).
